Excitement surrounds pharaoh’s tomb in Egypt

Ancient Egypt has always been surrounded by mystery. Archaeologists have been trying to unravel this mystery for hundreds of years. They have learned many unknown facts. Many things are being tried to be known. Currently, the tomb of a mysterious pharaoh or emperor of Egypt has created a new sensation among researchers.

The tomb was discovered in the city of Abydos, Egypt, last January. The tomb has several rooms. The entrance is quite decorated. However, due to the attack of thieves on the tomb, many of the information written in hieroglyphic characters on the brick walls have been damaged. Apart from this, no body was found in the tomb. As a result, it is not known which pharaoh was buried there. A press release issued by the Penn Museum at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States on March 27 said that researchers believe that this is the tomb of a pharaoh between 1640 and 1540 BC. At that time, the Abydos dynasty was ruling Egypt. Very little is known about this dynasty. Their information is now shrouded in mystery to researchers.

The newly discovered tomb was found about 23 feet below the surface. There is an ancient burial ground there, known as the ‘City of the Dead’. According to Egyptian mythology, the city of Abydos was the final resting place (afterlife) of Osiris, the god of the underworld. For this reason, many Egyptian pharaohs chose this place as their tomb after their death. Excitement surrounds pharaoh’s

More than a decade ago, the tomb of another pharaoh of the Abydos dynasty was found here. That pharaoh’s name was Seneb-Ke. The tomb found today is larger than that. It is believed that the pharaoh in the current tomb was Seneb-Ke’s predecessor.

Salima Ikram, a professor at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, said that finding the tomb of another new ruler of the Abydos dynasty is a wonderful thing.
